Weekend Antics: New Tattoo! ♥

Hey Peeps, all had a good weekend? I sure do hope so! 

Ours began with Friday night going to see Marina and the Diamonds perform at the HMV Institute in Birmingham, and I had been so excited about it all day. I had also put in my previous blog post that I was determined to see her after the show, and for her to sign somewhere on me, which I really was! We got to the venue and it was a massively long queue actually, we couldn't believe it, but her popularity appears to be ever increasing. 

Here is the make up I wore for the gig! A bright pink glittery eye with Marina's heart on my face. I had no idea the ticket was the same colour as my make up!

Here was Ed and I as we just arrived in Birmingham.

When Marina first came out singing 'Homewrecker'. She was absolutely amazing, she always sounds just like her songs and puts so much effort into performing. My  favourite was her singing 'Lies', go check it out on Youtube if you haven't heard it, it's my favourite track off the Album, Electra Heart.

This was the queue to try and see her after the gig to get things signed! It went further down to the left and right, with an immense amount of people! Everyone was squishing up to try and get a look, and it was hammering down with rain. Luckily when she did come out, we managed to squeeze up to the gates!

Sorry about the rubbish photos but it was in the dark! Her manager or something was shouting her to go and Ed and I had only just managed to get to the front, and Ed had an LP to get signed too. She turned to leave and I stuck my arm through the gates and shouted 'please can you sign my arm Marina!?' so she quickly turned round, signed me and Eds LP and she left! That's how lucky we were! So I went all ridiculously fangirly, but I was so happy I had managed to achieve what I set out to do that night.

It also made me really happy to get her autograph on me as one of my favourite artists, so off to the tattoo shop I went.

And here it was tattooed! It didn't hurt much at all, and I love the artistic twist on it!

The photo's probably don't do it much justice, but I love it. A memory to keep with me for life and hopefully I'll be able to show her one day! You only live once, and if that means jumping out of a plane and getting a celebs autograph tattooed on me then so be it.

Nails for the weekend ♥

Heylooo, hope everyone is well, and the horrible rain and floods haven't affected you too much. Depressing isn't it? We were meant to be going on holiday this Wednesday, but unfortunately we have had to cancel due to work being busy etc, so it's moved to September now. I bet it's gonna be so worth the wait!

So tonight we are going to see Marina and the Diamonds for the third time! I am super excited and I've seen she has been coming out after the gigs have ended so we are going to hang around and aim to meet her! I'd love to get her autograph on me somewhere, and may have it tattooed! Sad? Maybe, but I like to think of tattoos as building a story of your life. I think Kat Von D said it once, and it's a mantra I like to stick to so maybe I could justify it! I don't know, might not happen yet. Anywho.

I have done my nails for the weekend now, and they are actually pretty rubbish but I haven't got any nail polish remover with me so I can't redo it, oh well. I have a lilac on the nails, which took two coats (see products in last picture), and then drew a diamond with a black nail art pen, filled it in with glitter and then drew the diamond lines in. Bit of a fail, but it can just be worked out as a little diamond! Also I drew a little heart on my thumbnail as Marina always has a heart on her face, which I shall also be doing!

I don't think nail art is particularly my forte! It's the effort that counts though, isn't it?

Here are the products used. Ciate Nail Varnish in Purple Sherbet, which I absolutely love! OPI Glitter polish in Servin' Up Sparkle, and Models Own Nail art pen in Black. The Ciate Polish was free in Marie Claire and the consistency, drying time and finish are all brilliant, and I definitely think I'll be purchasing more Ciate polishes in the future!

Right, I better go and pick up 200 false nails that have just fell out their box into my handbag. Major fail. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Weekend Antics ♥

Again, it's been a while, and I am still yet to do some beauty blogging! Forgive me, it hasn't been the top of my priority list, but I sure am going to try! 

So, onto the subject...As I mentioned previously if you have read my blog before this, you would know that I went to Cambridge over the weekend to see Marina and the Diamonds. I went with my other half Ed, his sister Maria and her boyfriend Jonny. It is the second time we have seen her and I think she was even better than the first time. It was a really good gig, and with good company we had a great laugh. 

Here is Marina herself! Sorry it is bad quality, it was hard to focus on her as she moves around a lot.

We checked into the hotel just before we went over to the gig, but as we were filling in the registration card, we realised Ed had forgotten our case! No clothes, make up, brush, toothbrush or anything! It wasn't great but we managed to get a toothbrush from the hotel but with everything else missing, I wasn't a pretty sight in the morning! Here was just a little instagram of my croissant in the morning, and I liked the napkins!

So then we came back on the Saturday, and I decided to get my hair cut! I haven't had it cut in over a year. The hairdresser was telling me off for the state of it after all the bleaching and dying, and it was in such bad condition he ran his hand through it and it all broke off! I had a good two inches off, which I think has helped the condition massively. So here are some proper pictures. I decided to have a more 'glam' blow dry, I quite like it all bouncy, but it takes ages to do so I doubt I can recreate it anytime soon. Hopefully I am still pulling the blue off without looking like a real weirdo! But it's my favourite colour so I love it really! 

So that is that I guess. Nothing else interesting. There is a video to put up on this blog, I've just got to piece it together, so check back soon!

It's About Time ♥

Finally. I have been feeling a little down as I have previously mentioned, and I'm sure I have mentioned how much I loved turquoise! So to cheer myself up, I thought I'd go drastic and put some colour back in my life. So welcome back to the turquoise hair! Dodgy photo I am sorry, it was taken really late and I had no make up on so had to hide the face! But you get the gist. There are really green tones in this pic too, but they are covered with the black when my hair done properly. I feel more myself. Just wish I could shift the weight now. 

For work I am just going to put a wide hair band over it. I look like a bit of a hippy but that's ok if I get to be myself every weekend! People also automatically assume that I am like an 'emo' when I have this hair too, not that there is anything wrong with that...but I just personally am not like that! I am 21 and have way passed that stage, I just love the colour turquoise, so I have it in my hair. I don't dress any different, still in 'normal' sort of clothes and dress how I want. I love the art of expressing yourself, I am not going to be this age forever, so I should try and embrace it now. Just like everyone should. It is really difficult when you have restrictions like jobs, and growing of age when it becomes a little less 'socially unacceptable' to express yourself, but who cares! All it is, is a colour in my fringe, no biggie. So if you are itching to do something, just go for it, and be yourself <3

Just thought I would show you Ed's HUGE chip! We went to The Green Man in middleton, and he had fish and chips, but they were HUGE! It doesn't look so big on this picture, but if you can compare it to the fork, you can see what I mean. 

So I am going to do more beauty blogs very soon, I appear to have been distracted by other subjects! By the way, the hair colour I used was Turquoise by Directions which I way prefer to stargazer. It is in a little tub so you can just use as much as you need and put the lid back on. Every sort of 3 to 4 washes I tend to re-apply it, it will last longer than that, it will just be more faded, and I like to keep it vibrant. For the black, I used Loreal Feria in 'Blackest Black'. I will put a picture of both products on a blog very soon, and a proper picture. We are seeing Marina and the Diamonds again tomorrow in Cambridge and I am excited! We aren't going to Brighton tomorrow any more because the hotel had the most awful reviews on tripadvisor, and we are having some building work done on our office so Ed needs to be home to keep an eye on the job. Hopefully we will have some good fun though! 

Right I have waffled for long enough, time for bed.

Tickets and Cake ♥

Wow it's been a good few days since I have posted! Sorry. I just haven't had a lot of time on my hands since I've been back at work. It still doesn't really feel like I am leaving yet, and I only have 1 week and 4 days left, which alternatively equates to 9 more shifts then I'm outta there. It's creeping up on me now!

So anyway, the title is pretty much as it says on the tin, meaning our Marina and the Diamonds tickets have come! Weheyyyy! We are going down to Cambridge on 24th February to see her, staying over then continuing to Brighton just for a day out, staying there then coming back on the Sunday. So hopefully I will have a blog of nice pics after that! If you don't know of Marina and the Diamonds I would recommend checking her out on Youtube. She is a great alternative pop artist with a definitive, unique style, and we have been big fans since her first single 'Hollywood'. We saw her in London in November and she was amazing live.

I haven't really been up to anything exciting. We cooked for Eds family on Sunday, Ed did dinner and I did pudding. I have a trademark chocolate fudge cake, and it is stodgy as anything but it tastes soooo good. Not recommended if you are calorie counting! 

The remaining slice! But I'm sure it isn't going to last very long. I'll let you into a secret...the link to the recipe ! It really is easy and doesn't take very long. The only thing you have to wait a couple of hours for is the Ganache Icing to set, but if you haven't got much time, I also recommend the Betty Crocker Chocolate Frosting. It's already made and only about £2. 

Unfortunately I have come out in a huge breakout around my lips. Ughh I hate spots, no matter how much concealer I use, the little blighters show through somehow. I have just purchased the Witch Blemish Stick, which was around £2.50. I have got a terrible habit of continuously picking at spots, then you get a never ending bleed and so on and so forth. Gross! However, I put this on top this morning and it has actually dried it up straight away. So at the moment, I do recommend this but we shall see if they clear up and how long they will stay away for.

Right, time for me to get ready for work, yet again, otherwise I'm probably going to be late. Hopefully I will blog sooner than later! I'm off to Cumbria on business with Ed on Friday but will be back Saturday hopefully with some pictures too.
